A silver malachite bracelet with a thin and light design. This silver jewel has been entirely handmade. It was made in India, in a spirit of fair trade. It is Shankar, one of our craftsman-partner from Rajasthan who shaped this jewel. The malachite silver bracelet is adjustable and works well on thin to medium wrists.

The properties of malachite

Malachite is the stone of expression. In lithotherapy it is a very used stone. It helps fight against pain and joint problems. It is also given anti-bacterial properties. Affixed directly to painful areas, it relieves inflammation and pain.

Malachite has been known and used for millennia for medicinal, cosmetic and decorative purposes. Reduced in powder it served to color the frescoes or was used in make-up. There are also many monuments around the world, with columns, statues and malachite objects. Malachite powder was used in Egypt by nobles to make up the eyes. In Africa, it is reputed to destroy the resistance of the enemy. In Greece, it represents the protective power. In Laos, the beneficial rain.

The material of your bracelet

The silver used to make jewelry cannot be 100% pure because it would be too soft. In order to be able to work it, we add one or more alloying metals to it, copper most of the time. Silver jewelry, in Europe and in most countries of the world, is 925 silver. It is 1st grade silver, it has a minimum content of 92,5%. This is also called sterling silver, from the English Sterling Silver 925. Sterling silver, for example, is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
