This open bangle bracelet in silver and natural pearls is a unique piece. It was handmade by one of our artisans-partners in the Chang Maï region, in northern Thailand. The bangle is in solid silver but remains flexible, due to its high silver content. It opens easily and slips on from the side. The silver work at the end of the bangle is typically Thai and very pretty. As for natural pearls, they are perfectly set. The open bangle bracelet in silver and pearls will appeal to those who love fine and worked jewelry.

Origins of your jewelry

This Thai bracelet was made in the northwest of the country, near Chiang Mai. This hilly region, close to the Burmese border, is the land of the Karen tribes, renowned for their expertise in weaving and making silver jewelry. The Karen migrated long ago from Burma and brought a traditional know-how of their own.

The silver used to make the jewelry can not be pure 100%, because it would be too soft. In order to work it is added one or more alloy metals, most of the time copper.
