This silver lapis lazuli ring is a magnificent unique piece, adjustable. A 925 silver creation, set with a long and very beautiful oval lapis lazuli stone. The lapis gemstone is deep blue with some glitter. This designer ring is entirely handmade. It was created by Shankar, one of our artisan-partners in Rajasthan, in northern India.

The properties of lapis lazuli

History tells us that the Sumerians associated the blue of lapis lazuli with the celestial vault. They esteemed lapis as a gift from heaven and worshiped it. The Egyptians, for their part, carved their famous scarab-shaped amulets in lapis lazuli. Lapis lazuli is a quality semi-precious stone. It is renowned in jewelry and can be found mounted on gold and silver jewelry. There are deposits of lapis lazuli in Afghanistan, Chile, and Russia.

In lithotherapy lapis lazuli is a symbol of gaiety and harmony. It is a stone of love and friendship, which creates around its owner an aura of tenderness and sympathy. Lapis is particularly recommended for nervous people, on whom it has a calming action. Lapis provides a good sleep and develops intuition.

The material of your ring

The silver used to make jewelry cannot be 100% pure because it would be too soft. In order to be able to work it, we add one or more alloying metals to it, copper most of the time. Silver jewelry, in Europe and in most countries of the world, is 925 silver. It is 1st grade silver, it has a minimum content of 92,5%. This is also called sterling silver, from the English Sterling Silver 925. Sterling silver, for example, is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
