The larimar LAGUNE silver bracelet is a new creation. Entirely handcrafted, this pretty silver bracelet offers a delicate and light design. The semi-precious larimar stones are perfectly set and highlighted. Larimar is a rare stone, discovered a few decades ago in the Dominican Republic. The only deposit of this stone with the colors of an exotic blue lagoon is found in the Caribbean. The softness of the blue lagoon color of the stones, makes it a unique jewel. The larimar LAGUNE silver bracelet was designed in France and then handmade by a talented craftsman, in a spirit of fair trade.

The properties of larimar

The larimar, a fine stone that has such a beautiful history! This mysterious blue and green water stone comes straight from the Dominican Republic. It is the only deposit of larimar in the world. It was discovered in the 1900 years but was only exploited from 1975. It is Miguel Mendez who manages to obtain a right of exploitation. He gave the fine stone the name of his daughter Lari, to whom he added the word "mar", sea in Spanish. Hence the name of larimar. The Bahoruco mine still belongs to Miguel Mendez.

Tip: the larimar is photosensitive, storing it in the dark will prevent it losing its color over the years.

The material of your ring

The silver used to make jewelry cannot be 100% pure because it would be too soft. In order to be able to work it, we add one or more alloying metals to it, copper most of the time. Silver jewelry, in Europe and in most countries of the world, is 925 silver. It is 1st grade silver, it has a minimum content of 92,5%. This is also called sterling silver, from the English Sterling Silver 925. Sterling silver, for example, is made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
