Silver bumblebee jasper ring

The silver bumblebee jasper ring is a unique piece handmade in the heart of Rajasthan, India. We created this model with Shankar, one of our craftsmen-partners in this region. A magnificent bohemian design, which has a lot of character while remaining delicate, by its finesse. A superb work, meticulously executed in quality 925 silver.

The properties of bumblebee jasper

Bumblebee jasper is very rare, and its only deposit is in Indonesia, on the island of Java. It was from 1990 that it was discovered and used in jewelry. Bumblebee jasper owes its name to its successive layers of orange and black colors reminiscent of the bumblebee.

This natural stone is an in-between, neither jasper nor agate but with a close composition. It is mainly composed of volcanic ash layers (containing gypsum, angelite, orpiment, arsenic sulphide and hematite) and sulfur layers. The Indonesians call it “coal that becomes sulphur”.

In lithotherapy, bumblebee jasper promotes the circulation of energies, and balances the lower chakras. It is a protective stone against insects and reduces insomnia.

The silver used to make the jewelry can not be pure 100%, because it would be too soft. In order to work it is added one or more alloy metals, most of the time copper.
