A fine larimar ring with a very feminine and airy design. This sleek model is out of the ordinary and will appeal to women who love delicate jewelry. The larimar is a rare and exotic stone, with only one deposit in the Caribbean. Its blue-green colors are reminiscent of the lagoons of the islands. This ring was entirely handmade by a talented craftsman from Rajasthan, land of jewelers for millennia. It is with Shankar that we designed this ring.

The properties of larimar

The larimar, a fine stone with such a beautiful history! It is the stone of love and the story goes that it holds the loved one. This mysterious blue and green water stone comes straight from the Dominican Republic. It is the only larimar deposit in the world. It was discovered in 1900 but was not exploited until 1975. It was Miguel Mendez who succeeded in obtaining an exploitation right. He gave the fine stone the name of his daughter Lari, to which he added the word “mar”, sea in Spanish. Hence the name of larimar. The Bahoruco mine still belongs to Miguel Mendez.

Tip: the larimar is photosensitive, storing it in the dark will prevent it losing its color over the years.

In lithotherapy the larimar is reputed to be a stone of extreme softness, which brings calm and balance. The stone stimulates vital centers and self healing. The larimar stabilizes the nervous system and enhances the joy of living. Stone of well-being, it is recommended to wear the larimar close to the body. It can also be associated with other stone (rock crystal, turquoise, chalcedony ...)

The material of your ring

The silver used to make the jewelry can not be pure 100%, because it would be too soft. In order to work it is added one or more alloy metals, most of the time copper.
