Description
Silver lapis lazuli pendant
The silver lapis lazuli pendant is a unique piece handmade in the heart of Rajasthan, India. We created this model with Shankar, one of our artisan partners from this region. A magnificent ethnic chic design, which has a lot of character while remaining delicate, by its finesse. The fine stone is a natural lapis lazuli, deep blue and dotted with glitter.
The properties of lapis lazuli
History tells us that the Sumerians associated the blue of lapis lazuli with the celestial vault. They esteemed lapis as a gift from heaven and worshiped it. The Egyptians, for their part, carved their famous scarab-shaped amulets in lapis lazuli. Lapis lazuli is a quality semi-precious stone. It is renowned in jewelry and can be found mounted on gold and silver jewelry. There are deposits of lapis lazuli in Afghanistan, Chile, and Russia.
In lithotherapy lapis lazuli is a symbol of gaiety and harmony. It is a stone of love and friendship, which creates around its owner an aura of tenderness and sympathy. Lapis is particularly recommended for nervous people, on whom it has a calming action. Lapis provides a good sleep and develops intuition.
Colors: Indigo blue to sea blue, sometimes speckled with white (calcite) or golden glitter (pyrite)
Chemical composition: Silicate sulfur of aluminum and sodium.
Chakras: chakras of the third eye and the summit.
The material of your silver lapis lazuli pendant
The silver used to make the jewelry can not be pure 100%, because it would be too soft. In order to work it is added one or more alloy metals, most of the time copper.
Silver jewelry, in Europe and in most countries of the world, is 925 silver. It is 1st grade silver, it has a minimum content of 92,5%. This is also called sterling silver, from the English Sterling Silver 925. Sterling silver, for example, is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Sterling silver has been a category of silver for jewelry in many countries since the 14th century.
